Schools

Bath in Bloom have active engagement with local schools, helped by the generous sponsorship of The University of Bath Gardening Club.

With our own dedicated Schools Co-Ordinator, Bath in Bloom supports school projects and their gardening clubs and encourages them to enter our annual gardening competition, where they can win gardening related prizes. In addition we can provide small donations, advice, seeds and tools for certain projects.

The range of gardening activities that schools now provide are extremely impressive. Children are taught to grow excellent fruit and vegetables, and then how to cook the freshly picked produce. Garden elements also include sensory gardens, forest school areas, ponds, bug hotels and places to relax and have fun or just be quiet.

Bath in Bloom encourages local schools to enter the annual RHS South West in Bloom Painting Competition. Local pupils have won the top prizes in the last few years.

The RHS South West in Bloom have initiated a new “Its Your School” scheme which we are hoping many of our local schools will join.
