RHS SW in Bloom 2024

Bath was honoured to host the RHS South West in Bloom Awards Ceremony at the Pavilion this October. The RHS was celebrating its 60th Anniversary and as Bath in Bloom was the first winner of the “In Bloom” competition way back in 1964, it was very appropriate that the celebrations would be held in Bath.

The celebrations began the evening before with a reception at the Roman Baths that was attended by the Mayors and dignitaries from the participating towns and villages in the South West.

The awards ceremony was held the next day in the Pavilion, attended by 300 people. Members of the committee helped decorate the venue with various floral displays. As a light touch Bath BID arranged for the services of Mr Pothead, from The Natural Theatre Company based in Widcombe, to greet the guests as they arrived.

All the attending guests were given a free tree sapling, grown by the community group More Trees of Bath, as a momento to plant in their own communities around the South West. Bath in Bloom made a £400 donation to More Trees for their kind help.
